August 2017 – “Transaction Declined: OFX trade account suspended ” - e-mail phishing scam

It has come to our attention that several customers have been the target of a phishing email scam.

The fraudulent “Transaction Declined” email purports to originate from CanadianForex and/ or our parent company OFX. The email is not associated with neither CanadianForex nor OFX.

The email claims that a recent ‘FX trade transfer’ has been cancelled due to unusual activities being detected and also due to insufficient balances to cover the transfer. The email also invites readers to click on a link in order to ‘review account activity’ and ‘avoid suspension’.

If you have received an email claiming the above, do not click on the link. Report it by sending the email (as an attachment, if possible) to compliance@canadianforex.ca or simply delete it.
